Memebox #29 No Makeup Makeup

My No Makeup Makeup Memebox arrived via express today. I'm thrilled. I was shipped Friday from Korea and arrived at my house here in the US on Monday. Whoa! Love getting packages this fast. I got this box in a bundle with the Burst of Color 2 box. Review for that one will follow.
For those of you who don't know what Memebox is here a real quick description. Memebox is the number 1 Korean beauty subscription service. But it isn't really a subscription with monthly recurring expenses. It's a one time buy or in the case of Memebox lovers a multiple box purchase. You know who you are. Anyways, Memebox has different boxes to chose from and you can buy as many or little as you want.
You can sign up here and see if they have anything you like.
But now to my unboxing with quick review.

This was a so called superbox, which means all the products included will be full size. The no makeup box featured six full size items. The box cost $29 pluss $6.99 shipping. Since I got it as a bundle I got a deal and paid $71 plus $6.99 for shipping, which they upgraded to express shipping for free and I was able to use some coupons for my boxes as well. I think all in all I just paid $51 for 2 superboxes including shipping. I think this is a fantastic deal. Unfortunately this box is sold out, but they have other great boxes available right now.
Memebox always includes a card with all the information about the products in the box. Since most of the products have Korean writing on them the card will tell you a short description as well as how to use it and the price.

The first item in this box is

1. Macqueen New York Mineral CC Cushion Cover SPF 50 retails for $23
They randomly selected these from two shades, 21 clear light beige or 23 oriental pure beige. I got lucky and received the 23 oriental pure beige. By lucky I mean that Korean foundations tend to be too light for most westerners, including me. I get pretty tanned in the summer, despite using sunscreen daily (hey I live in always sunny Phoenix, Arizona). So I need to get the darkest shade, Korean foundations come in.

This mineral CC Cushion has a high level of SPF (50) so that is awesome. The high levels of bamboo water in this one will deliver cooling and soothing effects and making it perfect for the summer time. Although this is their darkest shade it is still a tad too light for me, but with a bit of bronzer I can make it work.

See, it's not too bad after I blended it in for a while. Maybe this will be perfect for the winter, where I tend to be really light.

2. drww Power Lift Strong Cream retails for $60
Now this is new to me. I never heard of a strong cream. But I will just let you know what the card says.
Containing omega 3,6,9, hyaluronic acid, and 5 differen kinds of flower seed ectracts, Drww's Power Lift Strong Cream works to treat skin darkening and wrinkles. The best part of this cream, however, is in its function as a makeup booster. It can also be applied in small amounts along the T-zone for highlighting your features before or after makeup. What's more, mix it in with a make-up base or a foundation and apply on your face for a naturally glowing and radiant complexion.
So my understanding is that it is part whitening cream, part wrinkle cream, but also a highlighter and primer. Sounds good to me.

Here you can see it is a white cream with an iridescent shimmer. It goes on transparent, but leaves the skin lighter and brighter with a nice shimmer. I'm excited and can't wait to try it out. Might be nice to use it as a shimmer cream on your body too.

3. Milky Dress Silky Velvet Primer retails for $30
I knew they would include a primer in this box. I was hoping for another brand, but this one will do just fine. I love primers and I'm very happy that I got another one with this box. I have not tried it, since I have 3 tubes of primers currently open and this one was still sealed. The card says it's made from USDA patented organic ingredients such as rhodiola rosea root extract, damask rose extracts, and rosemaryleaf extracts.

4. DD'ell Gel Color Pot 08 Snowy White retails for $16
Not quite sure about this one to be honest. It might be a bit too light and white for me. It's kind of a eye shadow and highlighter in one.

It has a cushiony, creamy texture. It is solid, but somewhat soft to the touch. A little goes a long way, for me at least.

It's very shimmery and white. I might make it work as a eye shadow or as a highlighter. I don't know yet. This is the only product in this box I'm not totally excited about. Maybe you have other ideas how to use it.

5. ProYou Vita CC Lip Essence in Red Rose retails for $24
Now this one is cool. I've never seen an applicator like this. It's like an all-in-one product. It has vitamin E, shea butter, jojoba oil, and macadamia oil. It moisturizes your lips and feels like a lip gloss. But here is the cool thing, the color changes according to your own lip color and Ph level.

When you pump the lever on the side, the product will come out clear, but it will change the color once it's been on your skin for a while.

Can you see the light rose tint? It made my lips super soft, hydrated and shiny and left a light rose tint, which even after wiping the product off, the lips (and even my hand) was still tinted pink. I love it. So cool. So I can use it like a tinted moisturizing lip gloss or wipe it off and use it as a moisturizing lip tint. Love it.

6. Missha The Style Perfect Concealer in Natural Beige retails for $4
Once again a great color. Not too light or too dark. It looks almost like my MAC NW25 Studio Finish concealer. I haven't opened it  yet, since I still have about half a pot of my beloved MAC concealer left, but if this one works as good as I hope it will I might buy this one in the future, since it has a way better price than the MAC one.

So this box has a combined value of $157 and it was sold for $29. Not bad. All the products are great (with one little exception) and I will use them all. So this box was really worth it for me. I'm glad that Memebox included a bit more darker shades this time. If they ever come out with a second edition of this box, I will get it for sure.

  1. Looks like a nice box but definitely one which wouldn't have been used a lot by me. I find that so far I've chosen pretty well.

  2. Ooo I was a bit disappointed at first when I saw the picture on Instagram. I already have a CC cushion and I haven't started on the refill pack yet but I do love it and use it quite often when I go out. I thought it was more skincare products but after reading your post I realised that they are both skincare and makeup! Really looking forward to it now :)

    1. I like that it offers both. Although I was sure it would include some mascara, but I'm glad it didn't. I have so many tubes, I don't need any more mascara. This will be my first CC cushion and I'm quite excited to try it out. I am really glad that I got this box. It's a nice mix of products and all usable. Hope you will enjoy yours too.
